  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)

  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon fresh orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 3 ½ cups high-quality 1:1 gluten-free flour blend (plus extra for dusting)

  • â…” cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 ounces full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon fresh orange zest
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • In a stand mixer bowl or large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and a pinch of sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  • Add remaining sugar, melted butter, eggs, 1 tablespoon orange zest, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix on low to combine.
  • Gradually add the gluten-free flour blend, one cup at a time, until a soft, sticky dough forms. Mix with a dough hook for 3-4 minutes.
  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours until puffy.
  • On a floured surface, roll the dough into a 16×12 inch rectangle. Spread with 1/2 cup softened butter.
  • Mix brown sugar, 1 tablespoon orange zest, and cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly over the butter.
  • Tightly roll the dough into a log from the long side. Cut into 12 equal rolls with a sharp knife or floss.
  • Place rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30-45 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Bake for 22-26 minutes until golden brown. Cool in pan for 10 minutes.
  • For the glaze, beat cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon orange zest, and a pinch of salt. Add orange juice until pourable. Drizzle over warm rolls.
