Crispy baked gluten-free churros recipe Easy healthy dessert using simple ingredients No frying required for this delicious gluten-free snack

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup 1:1 gluten-free flour blend
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, combine the water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a rolling boil. Reduce heat to low and add the gluten-free flour all at once. Stir vigorously until a smooth ball forms that pulls away from the pan’s sides. Remove from heat and let cool for 5-7 minutes.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spoon the dough into a piping bag fitted with a large open-star tip. Pipe 4-5 inch strips onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  • While baking, mix the sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish. As soon as the churros come out of the oven, gently roll each one in the cinnamon sugar while still warm.
