1/2 cup butter, softened (room temperature)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1/4 cup butter, softened (for filling)
Instructions
Preheat oven and prepare a loaf pan by greasing and lining it with parchment paper.
In a bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: milk, eggs, softened butter, and vanilla extract.
Gently combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined with no streaks of flour. Avoid overmixing.
Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and softened butter to create the filling. Sprinkle a generous layer of this mixture over the batter in the pan.
Carefully top with the remaining batter.
Using a knife or skewer, gently swirl through the layers 4-5 times in a figure-eight motion to create a marbled effect.
Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. The top should be golden brown.
Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
