- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
- Gently fold in the 2 cups of chocolate chips.
- Scoop out a generous tablespoon of dough. Flatten it slightly in your palm and place a chocolate chunk in the center. Carefully fold the dough around the chocolate, sealing it completely and rolling it into a ball. Place it on your prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining dough, spacing the balls about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers still look soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for at least 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
