Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced
1 pound broccoli, cut into florets
1 tablespoon sesame seeds, to garnish
For the Stir Fry Sauce: ½ cup hot water
â…“ cup gluten-free tamari or soy sauce
3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 teaspoons minced fresh garlic
1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

Whisk the Sauce: In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together hot water, tamari or soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, cornstarch, garlic, ginger, and black pepper. Set aside.
Prep the Steak: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Cook the Steak: Add the thinly sliced steak to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until browned on each side (5 minutes).
Add the Broccoli: Add the broccoli florets to the skillet.
Pour in the Sauce: Pour the prepared sauce over the steak and broccoli. Stir to coat.
Simmer and Thicken: Cook for 5 minutes, until broccoli is tender-crisp and sauce thickens.
Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve immediately.
