10 cups seedless watermelon cubes, frozen for at least 24 hours
2–4 tablespoons pure maple syrup, grade A; adjust to taste
1 large lime, juiced; about 2 tablespoons
¼ cup fresh mint or basil leaves, loosely packed; optional but recommended
1 ½ cups filtered water or coconut water for a tropical twist
Freeze watermelon cubes for at least 24 hours
Add watermelon, maple syrup, lime juice, herbs (if using), and water/coconut water to a high-speed blender
Blend on high speed until smooth and slushy; scrape down sides as needed
Taste and adjust sweetness or lime quantity
Pour into glasses and garnish with mint or lime before serving
For a thicker consistency, use only 1 cup of water/coconut water
Substitute basil for mint if preferred
Adjust lime juice gradually to avoid overpowering the flavor
