  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish or line with parchment paper.
  • For the base: In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg. Mix until well combined and a thick dough forms. Press this dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  • For the gooey topping: In another large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the remaining 3 eggs until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until well combined and creamy. Stir in the vanilla extract, if using.
