  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened

  • 1 box (15.25 ounces) yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • Fresh strawberries for serving (optional)
  • Whipped cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  • Spread the can of strawberry pie filling into an even layer on the bottom of the dish.
  • In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and vanilla extract until smooth. Dollop this mixture over the strawberry layer.
  • Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the top. Do not stir.
  • Slowly pour the melted butter over the cake mix, trying to cover as much of the dry powder as possible.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbly.
  • Let the cake cool for 15-20 minutes before serving. Serve warm with optional toppings.
